Congratulations Dylan Alcott and Heath Davidson

Dylan and Heath were both selected for the Australian Paralympic team that competed in Rio, Brazil in September. Dylan won gold in the Quad Wheelchair Singles event. He also paired with Heath Davidson, to win the also won gold in the Quad Wheelchair Doubles event. What an amazing result for these Victorians!

Andrew’s star continues to rise

Andrew Whittington (Williamstown) has continued his great recent run of form by posting his first ATP Tour level singles victory with a 1st round win over Luca Vanni (Italy) at the ATP 250 Shenzhen Open in China earlier this month. He has also achieved another career high ATP singles ranking of #175.

Victorian juniors at the Australian Clay court Championships in Canberra, ACT

  • Stefan Storch (Beaumaris) won the Boys 14/u Singles title and the 14/u Doubles title
  • Cihan Akay (Preston) partnered with Stefan Storch to win the 14/u Boys Doubles title

Victorians at the Super Senior ITF World Championships, Umag, Croatia

  • Andrew Rae (Mornington ) won the Gold Medal in the 65+ Men’s Doubles event and a Silver medal in the 65+ Men’s Singles
  • June Simpson (Tallygaroopna) won the Gold Medal in the 75+ Ladies Doubles event and in the 75+ Mixed Doubles event
  • Joyce Rogers (Highett) won the Gold Medal in the 80+ Mixed Doubles event and a Bronze medal in the 80+ Ladies Doubles event
  • Peter Jenkins (Langwarrin) won the Silver medal in the 65+ Mixed Doubles event and a Bronze Medal in the 65+ Men’s Doubles event
  • Margaret Harris (Truganina) won the Bronze medal in the 70+ Mixed Doubles event
  • Judy Hancy (Ringwood North) won the Bronze medal in the 70+ Ladies Doubles event

ITF Futures Pro Circuit Successes

  • Dane Kelly (Sunbury) won the US$10,000 Becomex IDS Cup Singles title at the ITF Futures event in Thu Dai Mot City, Vietnam. He also won the US$25,000 Brisbane QTC International Doubles title (with partner Bradley Mousley) at the US$25,000 ITF Futures event in Brisbane, QLD.
  • Marc Polmans (Brooklyn) won the US$25,000 Alice Springs Tennis International ITF Futures Singles and Doubles titles (with partner Luke Saville) and then partnered with Luke Saville again to win another Doubles title at the US$25,000 ITF Futures event in Cairns, QLD
  • Olivia Rogowska won the US$25,000 Tweed Coast Tennis International Doubles Title (with partner Monique Adamczak) at the ITF Futures event in Tweed Heads, QLD. She also won the US$25,000 Singles title at the Cairns Tennis International at the ITF Futures event in Cairns, QLD.
