On Tuesday 17 February notice of the upcoming Special General Meeting was sent to the Secretaries of all Tennis Victoria affiliates.

The Business of this Tennis Victoria SGM is to consider motions to amend the Tennis Victoria Constitution. The Tennis Victoria Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Kennedy, is available to discuss any queries any affiliate(s) may have in relation to the SGM and its Resolutions, in advance of the meeting, on 8420 8420 or [email protected].

Voting to amend the Tennis Victoria Constitution must occur in person (i.e. there is no postal voting) as required by the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic). Those entitled to attend and vote at a Tennis Victoria Special General Meeting (SGM) are each Members’ (i.e. affiliates’) Representative – the President or Secretary or alternative nominated for this meeting – as set out in By Law 19 Appointment of Representatives.

Note: This SGM will immediately follow the Victorian Community Tennis Forum #3, being staged in Olympic Room 2, 6:30pm for 7pm.

Background

It is proposed to update the Tennis Victoria Constitution to:

  • Allow for electronic voting for Director elections, and for a simple voting process for Director elections; and
  • Make incidental corrections and changes required since the Tennis Victoria Constitution was last changed in May 2014.
