4 June 2014 | Tennis Victoria

Tennis Victoria’s Future Leaders Program is back for 2014 and open to year 10 and 11 students. The program is a great opportunity for junior tennis players to not only explore the tennis industry as a possible career path, but to give back to the sport at a club level.

It begins with a three day camp and concludes once participants have completed 40 hours of volunteer work at your local affiliated club or tennis centre. In previous years the volunteer work performed by future leaders has benefited the clubs in many different ways through participants taking up roles such as obtaining small grants for club upgrades, running successful club open days and developing club newsletters and websites.

By being involved in the program students will be better prepared for future leadership roles within your sporting club or association helping to grow and sustain participation at committee level.

Benefits of the 2014 Future Leaders Program include:

  • Participate in leadership development workshops
    • Meet with like-minded peers
    • Gain transferable skills that can be used in all aspects of life
    • Develop contacts in the tennis industry and make new friends
    • Participate in a workshop on how to ‘make a difference at your club’
