The finals of the Victorian Junior State Titles were played on Sunday at Dendy Park Tennis Club.

Tennis Victoria successfully delivered the first ever Junior State Titles under the new National format.  The tournament was hailed a success by the 350+ players involved as well as their coaches, parents and officials.

After a trying week with weather impacting the scheduling of matches across the three venues at Dendy Park, Dingley and Royal Park Tennis Clubs, the finals went off without a hitch with some fantastic tennis displayed by the stars of tomorrow.  Due to the weather, match formats had to be reduced to short sets during days 2 and 3 due to the washouts of day 1 and half of day 2.

In a great day for Victorian tennis, 5 title winners were from Victoria with 4 runners up as well.

Tournament Director Andrew Reynolds said “I would like to publically acknowledge Dendy Park, Dingley and Royal Park Tennis Clubs for their outstanding contribution to the event.  Each singles winner will now receive a Wildcard into the December Nationals playoffs. Tennis Victoria looks forward to hosting the 2015 event and watching the youth of today take the path to become the next generation of tennis stars.”
