Player of the Year

The Junior Pennant Player of the Year award is given to the most outstanding junior player based on their match results throughout the regular season. It is awarded according to the following criteria:

  • ‘A’ sections of each age group only
  • Players are required to play a minimum of six matches for the season (where there is a bye, five matches need to be played)
  • Players listed on scorecards for a washout count as a match played

The player is determined by calculating the percentage of singles rubbers won x 2 plus percentage of doubles rubbers won. If two or more players are tied, then the percentage of singles sets won x 2 plus percentage of doubles sets won will be used. If players are still tied, then the percentage of singles games won x 2 plus percentage of doubles games won is used.

Please see the document below to see the players who have been given the Junior Pennant Player of the Year award since 2008.  In 2009 the awards were extended from the previous 16A sections only to also include the A sections of all the age groups.
