Tennis Victoria

Volunteers

Tennis Victoria is conscious of the fact that honorary administrators and volunteers at all levels of tennis are the life-blood of the sport and recognises that, without the efforts of these people, the game of tennis could simply not continue to flourish in this State.

A Tennis Victoria Volunteer is:

“a representative from the community who freely chooses to give their time, skills and experience to support club/centre or association activities.”

Future Leaders Program

Tennis Victoria’s Future Leaders Program is open to secondary school students who aspire to become involved in the tennis or sporting industry. Not only will they complete Introduction to MLC Tennis Hot Shots and Introduction to Officiating courses, but they’ll get to take part in great leadership activities with other tennis players of a similar age. Once the camp is finished, they get to put their newfound skills to good use at their tennis club by completing a 40-hour volunteer project.

Club Ambassador Program

All Tennis Victoria affiliated clubs are encouraged to participate this exciting program which has been running for a number of years with great success. The role of a Club Ambassador is to act as the liaison between Tennis Victoria and the club by providing information to relevant club people to assist with club management.

Club Ambassadors work in partnership with their club committee and Tennis Victoria. They will receive monthly email updates on membership/affiliation, grants, facilities, courses and other information relevant to committee members.

Anyone can register to be a Club Ambassador, and there can be more than one per club. To register send an email to tvreception@tennis.com.au with your name and club and we will sign you up for the e-newsletter.

To highlight the success of the program, Tennis Victoria produces an annual Club Ambassador Success Stories booklet which outlines the fantastic achievements of Club Ambassadors and other volunteers at tennis clubs.

The stories consider categories such as raising revenue, making members feel welcome, improving facilities and getting people involved, all of which are vital to the development of tennis clubs. Success stories have stemmed from the tireless efforts of Club Ambassadors, club volunteers and their consistent contact with Tennis Victoria.

The success stories booklet for 2009 can be found below. If you would like to obtain a hard copy, please contact us on (03) 8420 8420.
