A tennis club’s number one asset is its tennis courts and associated facilities. Redeveloping your tennis courts requires a large investment of time and money. Make sure you get it right the first time by contacting Tennis Victoria and enquiring about our technical services and range of resources and information.
For more information on how Tennis Victoria can support affiliated tennis clubs and councils in the planning of environmentally friendly tennis facilities, contact your Community Tennis Officer on (03) 8420 8420.
A key recommendation of Tennis Victoria’s Facility Planning Framework is to focus on the north and west metropolitan region of Melbourne. This region is experiencing a large increase in population and the planning for tennis and related infrastructure needs to match this growth. Tennis Victoria has engaged the services of @leisure, and partnered with state and local governments, to produce the ‘North West Metropolitan Regional Tennis Strategy’.
The strategy investigates current and future demand for tennis facilities in the region and develops a strategic and regional approach to tennis. The strategy also looks at the areas of club development, existing infrastructure and recommends a range of actions for all tennis stakeholders. The strategy allows for working closer with councils and, already, some great partnerships between clubs, councils and Tennis Victoria are in operation.
