Tennis Victoria

Definition of a club member

As part of the clubs’ affiliation process to Tennis Victoria, clubs must register ALL financial members with Tennis Victoria. This involves sending Tennis Victoria the details of all of your financial members, along with collecting the registration fee and forwarding this to Tennis Victoria on your member’s behalf.

ALL financial members must be registered whether they play competition or not.

For the purposes of registration, a ‘member’ of a club is defined as anyone deemed by the club to be a member of the club or its associated clubs who has the right to play on the club courts and also includes:

  • Senior/Junior members;
  • Individual members of family schemes;
  • Non-competition players as well as competition players;
  • Playing honorary members;
  • Restricted playing members;
  • Any person permitted by the club to play on the courts as a member of any team based at the club for the purpose of participating in a teams competition being conducted by the club, an association or by any other body (other than a school)
Exclusions

This definition does not include students competing on courts hired by schools for inter-school competition or other Tennis Victoria affiliated clubs who may hire the courts for periodic use. The only members exempt from the registration fee are: social members who do not have playing rights, absentee members and non playing honorary members.
