Neale Andrew Fraser MBE AO

“Tennis has been a significant and rewarding part of my life. In the current difficult environment, I urge everyone who loves their tennis (or sport for that matter) to contribute to the development of Victoria’s tennis facilities and future champions. I look forward to continuing to serve this great game.”

  • A left-handed legend of the game, Neale Fraser won no less than 19 Grand Slam titles – 3 singles, 11 doubles and 5 mixed doubles – and is one of the few men in tennis history to win all 4 majors in doubles.
  • In 1984 he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and in 1994 entered the Australian Tennis Hall of Fame.
  • His record in the greatest international team sport, the Davis Cup, is unsurpassed – 9 years as a team member, with 7 times a winner. He succeeded Harry Hopman as a non-playing Davis Cup Captain in 1970, holding the position for a record 24 years and piloting Australia to 4 wins in 1973, 1977, 1983 and 1986, and recording 55 wins from 75 ties played.
  • Honoured with MBE in 1974 and AO in 1988.
  • Born in Melbourne in 1933, Neale Fraser still lives here.
