Toowoomba Tennis Association

Welcome to the Toowoomba Tennis Association, and the wonderful world of tennis in the Garden City!

The Darling Downs Lawn Tennis Association (DDLTA) was formed in 1898 and was established to organise the tennis fixtures across the area. In 1973 the association changes its name to the Toowoomba Tennis Association (TTA) to better reflect the area that it was organising fixtures in.

The James Street Tennis Centre was constructed and opened by the DDLTA in 1929 and continues to be the home of the Toowoomba Tennis Association.

Toowoomba Tennis Association is an independent club and centre. We are incorporated as an association, affiliated with Tennis Queensland and we are part of Tennis Queensland’s South Region.

The James Street tennis centre is conveniently located in the heart of the city, at the corner of James Street and Water Street South, Toowoomba.

The centre has nine high quality synthetic grass courts, all with lights, plus large clubhouse, change rooms and pro shop. We offer –

• Club membership
• Adult night fixture program Monday to Thursday
• Thursday morning ladies fixtures
• Junior Fixtures,  and school holiday camps
• Junior tournaments, including the Open Age, Junior Development Series, Perrett Shield and Alder Cup
• adult and senior tournaments, including the famous Easter Gold Cup, Hooper Accountants Toowoomba International and Duncan Thompson Cup
• Professional coaching for all ages by qualified and experienced coaches
• Court hire
• Venue hire - (Not currently available due to COVID-19 restrictions)
• Racquet, clothing and accessory sales and re-stringing
• Ball machine hire
• Sponsorship opportunities
