“Melbourne Park has been and will always be an influence in my life. This positive feel I gained from there, gave me the confidence and desire to continue to stay within the tennis industry after my competitive tennis days were over. Throughout my American college tennis days, I would return back to Melbourne Park to coach and through this I have developed life long friendships with Melbourne Park coaches.
These days at 27 years of age, I am a Head Tennis Professional at a country club in Missouri, USA. Melbourne Park has given me the desire to continue developing my coaching education and experience.

Just a short note: I know Michael spoke yesterday and thanked his supporters!!!! I would like to relay to you that the Academy has been a great part of Michael’s life and to see the younger children coming through supporting each other as part of a team was inspirational and Tennis can be perceived as an individual sport on this occasion it felt like a team effort and should be encouraged.
Kim, mother of one of our academy players.
The Academy coaches were an ace team, all of them with their different styles, still made each group work hard to play their best tennis. The coaches were motivating and seemed genuinely determined to help us improve our tennis. They helped us find the strengths and weaknesses in our games and supported us in reaching our goals, short or long term. The different drills we practiced and modified matches we played, I believe contributed a great deal to developing our consistency and strategy for our weekend matches. The groups were divided according to our standard, allowing us to really challenge each other in modified match play or practice matches.
Overall, I really value my experiences at Melbourne Park, working with the Academy team. I believe my experiences contributed to me being a better tennis player, a better tennis coach and even a better person.
Louella, former academy player
I trained at the Melbourne Park Tennis Academy for 2 years, usually twice a week. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and know my tennis improved dramatically because of it. The coaches varied every time so I got multiple perspectives on tennis, tactics and sport psychology. I still implement many of the lessons I learnt there. The program allowed me to hit with many, different players who were of a high level. As well as developing my tennis, it also dramatically increased my fitness, which was an undervalued aspect of tennis training for juniors.
I am now playing college tennis on a student athlete scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I know the Academy bridges the gap and encourages young tennis players, not in state squads, to continue competitive tennis past high school, into college and tournaments.
Alex, former academy player and now player at the university of North Carolina.
