Olivia Rogowska (Vic) is set to join a strong field at the upcoming Hobart International, having been awarded a wildcard entry into the main draw.

Rogowska will compete at the 22nd annual Hobart International, headlined by world No.29 Casey Dellacqua (WA), Sloane Stephens (USA) and Heather Watson (GBR) at the Domain Tennis Centre from Sunday 11 January.

The 23-year-old capped off her best year on the tour with two ITF $50,000 titles (Launceston and Sacramento) and reached a career high ranking of 102 in August.

“I’m so excited and grateful for the opportunity to play at such a great event,” Rogowska said today.

“I will enjoy every minute of it and look forward to giving my absolute best.”

Tournament Director Mark Handley is delighted to welcome Rogowska back to Hobart.

“It’s fantastic to have Olivia back playing in Hobart. She is a great supporter of the event and always competes strongly, it will be a nice launching pad for her 2015 year,” he said.

“Olivia won her first round match here in 2014 and it set her up for a great year, she’s worked hard and continues to improve. We are looking forward to seeing her play some great tennis.”

Hobart International 2015 will take place at the Domain Tennis Centre in Hobart, Tasmania from 11-17 January 2015.

Saturday 10 January will be Hobart International Kids Tennis Day presented by Nickelodeon. SpongeBob SquarePants and Squidward along with Nick Jr’s Dora the Explorer and Diego will be special guests at the Domain Tennis Centre from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Entry is free.
