Congratulations to Ben Kidd from Riverside for being named by Medibank as the monthly State winner of the Good Sport Awards. Ben, who is pictured with his new gear, was nominated for the award from Riverside tennis coach Marty Howell after his enthusiasm and dedication during his first ever tournament. Ben had other sporting commitments during the tournament but gave it his all, making many new friends during the day of tennis.

On winning the award Ben received a brand new Wilson tennis racquet, balls, towel and racquet bag which will no doubt be crucial to his tennis development as he continues to develop his game. When presented with the prizes Ben was ecstatic heading straight to the tennis courts to try out the new equipment. Ben’s coach Marty Howell quoted “The award is great news for Ben. He has really been working hard this year to improve his tennis and get ready for tournaments. The Medibank Junior Development Series offers a great pathway for first tournament players to experience many matches in a fun and friendly environment.”

Ben will now go in the running for the grand prize of a family trip to the Australian Open in 2015.
