Strathalbyn Brideson Easter Tennis Tournament

20 April 2015 |

The 2015 Strathalbyn Brideson Easter Tennis Tournament was played from Easter Saturday to Easter Monday 4 April to 6 April. 80 entrants played 178 matches over the three days with the finals completed on a rain delayed Monday.

Players and their families came from all parts of South Australia and from comments everyone appeared to enjoy the friendly atmosphere. The competitors especially enjoyed playing on our newly developed Plexipave blue courts.

The standard of tennis was high with a great display of sportsmanship from the players. There was much talent to be seen at this event amongst the juniors and seniors.
The Langrehr Perpetual Cup was presented to the Men’s Open Singles Winner Sam May. This year we were pleased to be able to run the Women’s Open Singles and the Holdfast Perpetual Trophy was presented to Linda Scholz. The Schoolboys and Schoolgirls Singles Perpetual Trophies were won by Harrison Collins and Taryn Gartner.

The Strathalbyn Tennis Club would like to thank all our sponsors including those as listed, for without their support we could not have held such a successful tournament: The Alexandrina Council, Victoria Hotel, Lake Breeze Wines, Bleasdale Wines, IGA Strathalbyn, Glyn Morris, Central Sports, L J Hooker, KTA General Insurance, MITRE 10, Strathalbyn Medical Centre, Strathalbyn Pharmacies, Coopers, Maidments Meat, Italktravel Mt Barker, Strath Motel, The Southern Argus and the National Bank.

The Club would also like to thank Angus Thomson our Tournament Referee with his assistant Shirley Logan for once again running a successful tournament. Thanks also to Tennis SA for their support in promoting the Tournament and a special thanks to all our dedicated volunteers.

Club President Clive Rafferty presented the trophies to all successful recipients.
