After the great success and positive feedback in regards to the Term 1 ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Orange Ball Leagues run in Glenelg Districts and Western Districts, Tennis SA are excited to be continuing these two ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Orange Ball Match Play (formerly Orange Ball Leagues) comps throughout 2017 winter season.

Season structure
Matches will take place Saturday mornings at 10:30am throughout Term 2 and 3 with Western Districts commencing on May 6 and Glenelg Districts commencing on May 13. First round matches will be at a centralised location (venue TBC) to allow for a 10 minute parent information session prior to the beginning of matches.

Both competitions will run for 16 weeks with neither playing June 10th (long weekend), July 15th nor July 22nd (school holidays). Western District’s league will conclude on Saturday September 9 and Glenelg Districts finishing up September 16.

Final rounds for both will take place, again, at a centralised location (venue TBC) to create a carnival atmosphere and allow for presentations to take place. A home and away fixture will be utilised for all other rounds.

Team and match formats
Teams will consist of two players each week with each player playing two singles match and one doubles matches per week. Each rubber will be one set first to 4 games. The beauty of this is it ensures each player is always playing as well as all matches being completed within a 90 minute time frame.

Court set up and balls
All matches will be played using orange balls and courts will be set out using Orange Ball guidelines. Parents’ attendance and support at matches helps to ensure games are enjoyable, run smoothly and a family atmosphere is created.

Why Join?
Hot Shots Match Play focuses on creating a great first time playing experience for kids who are early in their journey of competition play and allow a smooth introduction to inter club league structure as an ideal pathway from coaching into the junior competition.
