Day 4 of the City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger proved to be a cracker of a day, with great crowds in attendance.

In the match of the day, second seed Marcos Baghdatis (CYP) defeated John-Patrick Smith (AUS) 6-4 6-3 in front of an excited crowd, booking himself a spot in the second round.

It was a great day for the Australian qualifiers with Andrew Harris knocking out Japanese sixth seed, Hiroki Moriya, in straight sets 7-5 6-1. Andrew Whittington (AUS) also won through to the second round after defeating Ze Zhang (CHN) 6-3 6-4.

South Australian, Luke Saville hit Centre Court later in the afternoon and put up a good fight, but was unfortunately defeated by Tim Puetz (GER) 6-4 6-4.

In the longest matches of the day, Wayne Odesnik (USA) overcame Yoshihito Nishioka (JPN) 6-7(4) 7-6(3) 6-3 and Jurgen Zopp (EST) defeated Gerald Melzer (AUT) 7-6(7) 6-7(5) 6-4.

In other matches, third seed Andrey Kuznetsov (RUS) defeated Jordan Thompson (AUS) 6-2 6-4, fifth seed Aleksandr Nedovyesov (KAZ) overcame Radu Albot (MDA) 6-4 7-5 and Maxime Authom (BEL) defeated Aldin Setkic (BIH) 6-4 6-4.

Matches will start at 11:00am tomorrow, with main draw singles and doubles, headlined by number one seed Blaz Rola (SLO) taking on Ryan Harrison (USA) and number four seed, Paul-Henri Mathieu (FRA) playing Matteo Viola (ITA).
