Louca’s Seafood Trinity Titans claimed the 2013/14 Coopers Alehouse Metro State Leagues Men’s title with a resounding win over the Tea Tree Gully Subways on Saturday at Trinity Gardens Tennis Club. Trinity dominated the tie from the outset with number one player Li Tu overwhelming Tea Tree Gully youngster Tyson Devine to win 6-1 6-1. Tu’s older team mates then made light work of their opponents losing 11 games between them in their three singles rubbers. Tea Tree Gully battled manfully and were severely hampered by losing their number one player Josh Crowe to injury before the match. For Trinity it is another State League title for the club who are the power club of top level Competition Tennis in South Australia.

In the women’s final Memorial Drive overcame a feisty Goodwood Saints four rubbers to two. The tie was even at two rubbers all after the singles with Olivia Ley and Nikki Milner both winning tight three setters for the Saints. The experience of Memorial Drive shone through in the doubles with both rubbers won in convincing straight sets. The Memorial Drive team of Melissa Beadman, Melanie Clayton, Asaka Hiura, Michelle Leyden and  Emma Bailey were the pace setters for much of the year and thoroughly deserved to take home the State League Title.
