The Coopers Alehouse Metro State League Grand Finals will be played this Saturday at the Trinity Gardens Tennis Club, Trinity Gardens from 1.00pm.

In the Men’s finals, minor premier Louca’s Seafood Grill Trinity Titan’s will take on the Tea Tree Gully Subways. Trinity expect to be headed by rising star Li Tu who has been playing professionally since completing year 12 last year. The other members of the Trinity line up are a group of experienced top level players with a wealth of finals experience including Australian over 35 team member Adam Alessandrini, former touring player David To and State League Player of the year Andrew Tavella.

Tea Tree Gully are led by another former professional in Josh Crowe. Crowe, who now coaches locally is a renowned tough competitor and will be sure to take the fight to the Titans.  Also in the TTG line up are youngsters John Warnock- Bennett and Tyson Devine. Warnock-Bennett and Devine look to be the wildcards of the tie as they are both capable of playing scintillating tennis but will have to get past more experienced opponents to claim victory. Veterans Steve Sando,  Jason Todd and Steve Clarke will provide stability to the TTG line up with Sando a key player at number two single.

In the women’s final the Goodwood Saints are up against minor premier Memorial Drive. The Saints have one of the youngest State League teams in history with all players in their line up 18 or under. Olivia Ley heads the Goodwood team and will be keen to get them off to a good start on Saturday. Sisters Nikki and Brooke Milner will need to be at their best to challenge their more experienced opponents, both sisters are strong competitors and will be determined to push Memorial Drive. The youngest in the side is Amber Marshall who is currently the number two ranked player in her birth year (2001) nationally.

Memorial Drive come with an experienced line up of players with a strong history of performing in big finals at State League level. At number one Melanie Clayton will be a tough match up for Olivia Ley and will look to put her stamp on the match early. Experienced pair Melissa Beadman and Michelle Leyden will be tough match ups for their younger Goodwood opponents while Japans Asaka Hiura will provide valuable depth to the Memorial Drive team.
