on October 24, 2010 in Melbourne, Australia.

As we head towards the April School Holidays, the next leg of the South Australian Medibank Junior Development Series (MJDS) is set to begin with Tea Tree Gully, followed by Peake Gardens.

The MLC Tea Tree Gully April MJDS, will be the second MJDS event to be held at the Tea Tree Gully courts. The tournament will be played over two days, 5-6 April. Entries are now open for 15/u, 13/u, 11/u and 9/u age groups, with entries closing on Monday 31 March.

The Peake Gardens Riverside April MJDS will be the first event during these school holidays. Having previously held a one day event, this tournament has been extended over two days, 16-17 April. Entries are now open for 13/u, 11/u and 9/u age groups and will close on Friday 11 April.

Whilst the tournaments do not hold Australian Ranking points, they add a crucial step in the tournament pathway for children looking to be involved in tournament play.  MJDS tournaments have a strong focus on participation, with multiple playing opportunities for each child and the use of modified equipment.

11/u players will use 75% compression Hot Shots Green Balls, whilst 9/u players will use the 50% compression Hot Shots Orange Balls.

Players are encouraged to contact the relevant Tournament Director or visit the Tennis Australia Tournaments website http://tournaments.tennis.com.au/ for online entry or the Tennis SA Tournaments page http://www.tennis.com.au/sa/tournaments for manual entry.
