Foundation Cup Regional and State Events
Regional Events
Throughout February and March regional centres across South Australia will be hosting their Tennis SA Regional Championships. The Regional Championships are for children aged 8/u, 10/u and 13/u and are open to any junior tennis player based in regional South Australia within these age groups.
Teams enter in pairs and are representing their Association, if players wish to enter individually they will be matched up with a partner by their Regional Coordinator (see below).
Tennis Australia National Academy coaches will be running player pathway sessions and athlete testing at each Regional Championship and will be looking to select players to be part of their Regional Player Development Program
The 13/u age group are not only competing to be crowned regional champion but also the opportunity to be selected to represent their regional Foundation Cup team which then go on to play in the state event played in regional South Australia in third term school holidays.
From the State Foundation Cup event four boys and four girls are selected to represent South Australia at the National Foundation Cup held in Sydney in January 2013.

State Event
The State Foundation Cup will be played at the Gawler Tennis Club from the 23rd – 27th of September 2012.
This event is open to the junior athletes selected from their Regional Selection Days in February and March 2012.

The WTC Country Carnival is an event that has a long and very proud history in South Australia. It is an opportunity for players to represent their Association and participate in a competitive yet fun and enjoyable environment. The WTC Country Carnival is South Australia’s showcase event for regional affiliates and their members.
After the successful addition of the World Tennis Challenge, the week has proven to be an opportunity for the country tennis community to play and participate, then attend South Australia’s feature international tennis event.
The WTC Country Carnival is a grassroots team tennis participation event, with players graded into appropriate standards pending recommendation from their association.
