IMG_9865Nudgee Junior College reigned supreme as they took out their first Brisbane International Schools Challenge title. In what was their last State Finals under the “Nudgee Junior College” banner as they move to  “Ambrose Treacy College” as of 2015, the team of Finn Macnamara, Xavier Lim, Matthew Harper, Dominic Anderson, Josh Molochino & Lachlan Ford proved tough when it mattered as they defeated St Andrew’s Anglican College and Kelvin Grove State College in their 2 playoff ties 19-18 and 19-16 respectively. The event took place at the QLD Tennis Centre on the outside courts during the last four days of the 2015 Brisbane International presented by Suncorp.

Players who achieved well at their respective position are placed in an All Star team where ironically none of the Nudgee Junior College players made it. Goes to show it’s not always a “Team of Champions” but a “Champion Team” that succeeds.

This is the third time that the State Finals were held. Over eighty schools competed in regional qualifying events across Queensland.
