A record 23 clubs have been announced to receive funds in this year’s Heritage Bank Community Tennis Grants Program.

The program is designed to assist these clubs to create more welcoming facilities, improving the experience for players and families and ultimately growing the sport in their community. After nine years of partnership, Tennis Queensland and Heritage Bank have raised over $180,000 for these club initiatives.

See below which clubs were successful in 2014 and what they plan to do with the much needed funds:

Tieri Tennis Club Inc New outdoor club signage
Tennis Ipswich Accessible BBQ area and jumping castle for all Tennis Ipswich Clubs to use and hire out
Bundaberg & District Tennis Association Inc. Hitting wall and sheltered play area
Currumbin Tennis Club Inc Installation of shade covers
Toowoomba Tennis Association Improve outdoor buildings and install new outdoor club signage
Roma & District Tennis Club Inc. Paint bathroom blocks and install new promotional signage
Beenleigh Tennis Club New first aid defibrillator and PA system
Beaudesert & District Tennis Assoc Improve exterior of clubhouse
Gold Coast Seniors Install a new PA and Surround Sound System
Shaw Park Tennis Centre Install a new PA and Surround Sound System
University of Qld Tennis Club Two drying portable power packs
Maroochydore Tennis Club Inc Improve exterior of clubhouse and hitting wall
Sarina & District Tennis Association Inc New outdoor club signage
Ferny Hills Pure Tennis New landscaped spectator’s area and painting of the bathroom block
Mission Beach Tennis Club Inc Landscaping of outdoor area
Nambour & District Tennis Association Improve exterior of clubhouse, install new fencing and mount new notice boards
Samford Tennis Club Install new fencing and access gates
Imbil Tennis Club Roof repairs to clubhouse and landscaping of outdoor area
Earlville Tennis Club Improve exterior of clubhouse
Coolum Tennis Club Remove and replace outdoor shelter to make the outdoor area weatherproof
Western Suburbs Tennis Club Inc New security lighting in carpak
Capella Tennis Club New hitting wall

Thanks to the support of Heritage Bank we will soon see these clubs become more welcoming to the public, giving each a better foundation to attract new members and encourage current members to spend more time engaged in sport.
