Club Professional Coaching Course – Brisbane Course for 2012!!

Tennis Australia will be hosting a Club Professional Coaching Course in Brisbane this year.

Our Club Professional Coaching Course is designed to train coaches to become head coaching professionals at tennis clubs/centres. This course covers stroke production, tactical plans and sport sciences (biomechanics, psychology, physical conditioning, movement for tennis etc.). It also includes business development units (logos, advertising mediums, marketing materials, pricing strategies, product options, IT, the internet and email.)

Junior Development Coaching Course (SIS30710 Certificate III in Sport Coaching) – DATES AND ENROLMENTS RELEASED!!

We are now pleased, and very excited to confirm dates for not one, but two Junior Development Courses for the remainder of 2012.

The first will be conducted at Nudgee College, on the north side of Brisbane, and the second at Queens Park on the Gold Coast.

Tennis Australia (TA) has partnered with Smart Connection Training (SCT), a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) which means the Junior Development Coaching Course is now recognised within the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) as a SIS30710 Certificate III in Sport Coaching. The course is now part of the Vocational Education and Training Sector which will also allow eligible coaches to access Commonwealth and State funding.

All modules are delivered using a blended approach to learning. It will include face to face sessions delivered by Learning Facilitators, online tutorials, self-paced study and practical workplace experience. The course consists of 20 contact days, which are generally scheduled every second weekend over the period of the six months.

A course handbook has been provided for download, which answers all of the questions you may have.

Please note, given that we are now partnered with Smart Connection Training, there is a substantial enrolment process. All time frames must be adhered to, with no room for extensions (for applications).

Cardio Tennis Workshop – Brisbane – 31st May

Coach and Talent Development Queensland will be hosting a Cardio Tennis Workshop on 16th May at the Queensland Tennis Centre from 9.00am to 1.00pm. Themed ‘Cardio Tennis – Creating a Quality Program’ the workshop will cover the Cardio Tennis Product, with on and off court presentations.

This workshop is FREE for Qualified and Trainee Tennis Australia Coach Members.

Master Club Professional Coaching Course – DATES and ENROLMENTS NOW OPEN!

The Tennis Australia Master Club Professional Coaching Course has been confirmed for Queensland.

Master Club Professional graduates will be able to provide superior customer service and tennis programming, which, in a highly competitive environment, is of paramount importance for tennis facilities and coaching programs.

The course will take place in three blocks:

Block 1  27 -29 June

Block 2  1-2 October

Block 3  17-18 December

First Aid – Mandatory for ALL Qualified Coaches as of 1 July 2012 – BOOK NOW

Tennis Australia is committed to improving the quality of coaches of all levels. To ensure the safety and integrity of our sport, the Coach Development team are in the process of streamlining certification into Coach Membership. This began with the requirement of coach screening in 2009-2010. The next development for coach members is that First Aid will be a compulsory requirement of qualified Coach Membership from 1 July 2012.

We have organised discounted First Aid courses with several providers. Please visit the website for more information on the discounted courses in your area.
