• Community Tennis Officers (CTOs): The Community Tennis Officers work closely with all tennis stakeholders including member clubs/associations/coaches and facility operators, in addition to working with the relevant Regional Assembly in order to build participation, maximise facility utilisation and increase Tennis Queensland affiliation and player registration. CTOs can help and are there to assist your club. Please find with this information pack a fact sheet on how your CTO can assist you club.

How can my Community Tennis Officer help me? 

• Insurance: In 2012 Tennis Queensland will provide affiliates with Public Liability Insurance (including participation), Directors and Officers Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Affiliated bodies are covered up to the following amounts:

- $20 million Public Liability Insurance

- $5 million Directors and Officers Insurance

-  $10 million Professional Indemnity Insurance

• NEW in 2012 – Win one of two $5000 Club Grants:  To help you improve your facilities and club membership/competitions, Tennis Queensland will be giving away two $5,000 club grants at the end of 2011.

Grant No 1 – $5,000 – The first grant is for TQ affiliates who have shown an increase in registration numbers from calendar year 2010 to calendar year 2011. These affiliates will go into a draw to win a $5,000 grant towards facility improvements or club membership or competitions promotions.

Grant No 2 – $5,000 – The second is again for TQ affiliates who have shown an increase in registration numbers from calendar year 2010 to calendar year 2011, however the number of number of entries you have in the draw is determined by the increased number of your registered players from 2010 to 2011. Example – A club has 500 registered players in 2010 and 750 registered players in 2011. This club will have 250 entries in the draw.

The winning clubs will be announced during the 2012 Brisbane International. They will also be showcased at the  2012 Tennis Queensland Awards Night.

• Tennis Queensland Development Grants (up to the value of $2000): Funds are made available to Tennis Queensland affiliated bodies in the form of a tennis development grant to assist in conducting programs aimed at getting more people playing tennis and club development. Affiliated bodies have the opportunity to apply for this development grant annually.

• FREE Club Website: Affiliated bodies also have the opportunity to develop their own page linked to the Tennis Queensland site for FREE. To take up this offer please contact kmillman@tennis.com.au

 • NEW in 2012 – FREE Tennis Magazine Subscription to your club (value $75): FREE 12 month subscription for all Tennis Queensland affiliates.

• Host Sanctioned Tournaments and Events: The opportunity to organise a Tennis Queensland sanctioned event is open to all affiliated bodies. Sanctioned tournaments are held throughout the year on weekends and in school holidays. Each sanctioned event is listed in the widely distributed Tennis Queensland tournament booklet and is recommended to registered persons.  • National Court Rebate Scheme: Where affiliates are upgrading their existing courts or building new ones they can apply for funding towards the cost of base preparation and development, surfacing, lighting, fencing, water saving initiatives and ancillary items. Get more information here!

 • National Clay Court Maintenance Scheme: Affiliates can apply for funding assistance to maintain their existing natural Clay Courts.

 • Club Health Checks: Club Health Checks benchmark data from similar facilities to determine strengths and weaknesses, threats and opportunities (please see the attached flyer on Club Health Checks). In addition to these Club Health Checks will be a Facility Upgrade and New Development (FUNDs) check and a Club Insurance Review is provided to each affiliate.                                                                

• Technical Advice: Tennis Queensland is always on the lookout for ways to promote participation in our sport by contributing to the improvement of facilities for players. Tennis Queensland Court Tech offers a range of services from free advice on simple or complex technical queries through to site inspections and full project management consultancy services at significantly discounted rates for affiliates on such issues as:

-  Court playing surfaces (condition assessments, maintenance and recommendations)

- Lighting systems (light level reports, maintenance and recommendations)

-  Clubhouse design and site master planning

-  Selecting contractors and suppliers of tennis equipment and accessories

-  Preparation of tender documents and reviewing quotes received

-  Advice on working with local and state governments or other authorities in relation to tennis facilities

• Government Grants: Several grant programs are available to affiliated bodies to assist with club development including facilities, administration, coaching and planning. Tennis Queensland can provide advice in the preparation of these grant applications and providing letters of support for projects. More information on government grants here!
