The Regional Tennis Facilities Program has confirmed over $9 million in funding, and is jointly committed by the State Government and Tennis Queensland to deliver a network of world class tennis facilities in regional areas, including projects in:
These facilities will compliment the new Queensland Tennis Centre at Tennyson in Brisbane, which was completed in late 2009. This network of facilities will create a clear pathway for the next generation of tennis champions to progress from regional Queensland, through to Brisbane and hopefully onto the world stage.
Tennis Queensland will provide regular updates on the progress of each project, including photographs of each project during construction as they progress towards completion.
To view the latest progress on each of these projects, just click on each of the locations listed above for more information.
As part of this innovative program, it is anticipated each of these facilities will be managed by a professional operator to be engaged via a commercial tender process.
If you wish to register your interest to submit a tender for any of these facilities, or if you have any other questions in relation to the Regional Tennis Facilities Program, please contact Tennis Queensland’s Facilities Development Manager, Mr Michael Blomer on (07) 3120 7900 or by e-mail to mblomer@tennis.com.au.
