AIS Pro Tour Program

What is the AIS Pro Tour Program?

The AIS Pro Tour Program is a full-time on-the-road touring program for players over the age of 16. The aim of the program is to help these players make the transition from the junior to senior tour.

What are the benefits?

AIS Pro Tour Program Full Scholarship holders receive:

  • Coaching and support services
  • Assigned accountable coach
  • Medical, physiotherapy and massage therapy
  • Fitness, strength and conditioning
  • Access to Sport Science
  • Accommodation costs
  • Travel costs and international travel insurance (for program related travel)
  • Education support

What’s required of the players?

Contractual requirements include:

  • Commitment to a full-time touring program
  • 90 day probation period
  • Prize money payback plan
  • Education requirements
  • Behaviour, performance and fitness standards
  • Sponsorship obligations
  • Commitment to Davis Cup/Fed Cup teams when required
  • Private funding declaration

Where is the program based?

The AIS Pro Tour Program has two official bases in Canberra, Australia, and Barcelona, Spain.

Canberra, Australia

  • Full access to AIS facilities
  • Sport Science, strength and conditioning and physical testing
  • Medical, massage and physiotherapy services
  • Accommodation
  • Courts: three Plexicushion and two clay courts

Barcelona, Spain

  • Courts: 13 clay courts
  • Gymnasium
  • Swimming pool
  • Running track
  • Medical, massage and physiotherapy services
  • Accommodation

How do I qualify for the AIS Pro Tour Program?

Prospective scholarship holders are required to meet certain ranking, result and participation levels.

Applications are now closed for the 2012 AIS Pro Tour Program Scholarship intake. Applications for the 2013 intake will be available here in 2012.
