• Started playing tennis aged three.
• Spent time living in New Zealand and the United States before his family settled in Melbourne.
• Claimed the 2009 Optus 16s Championships, defeating top seed Luke Saville in the final.
• Reached the 2010 Australian Open Junior final, beating third seeded Australian Jason Kubler in the third round.
• Strengths are his consistency from the back of the court, as well as a steely determination and “a never-give-up attitude”.
• A career highlight was a practice session with 11-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal at the 2010 Australian Open.
