Mia Vriens began playing tennis aged five and is now a member of the NSW National Academy. In 2010 she focused her attention on qualifying for senior ITF events.
The Sydney native’s best result of 2009 came during the December Showdown, when she made the semifinals of the Optus 18s Australian Championships as a qualifier, before going down to second seed Sally Peers.
Mia has represented her country in Junior Fed Cup competition, with previous results including reaching the second round of the Australian Open junior championships in 2009 and the third round of the ITF junior event in Traralgon. Her favourite surface is hard court.
