David McCormick

David began playing tennis when he was 10 after tagging along to tennis training with a mate.

David’s speed is his primary on-court weapon and his favourite tournament is the Queensland Open. He credits Peter McClintock as having the strongest influence on his career because he got him involved in the sport.

Travelling throughout the world to places he wouldn’t otherwise go is the thing that David most enjoys about tennis. His favourite player is Roger Federer because he is a great ambassador for the sport. Off court, David enjoys cricket, rugby league and waterskiing. His favourite food is pasta while his favourite movie is Jackass. David’s father, Michael, is a spare parts shop owner, and his mother, Melinda, is a pre-school teacher.
