Brydan Klein started playing tennis at the age of six, introduced to the sport by his father, Verne, a tennis coach and high school teacher.
In 2007, Klein shot to prominence after becoming the first local to win the Australian Open boys’ singles title for 13 years – a feat that compatriot Bernard Tomic would repeat the following year. Brydan made his Davis Cup debut in 2009 against Thailand and started to play more ATP Tour events.
He has two brothers, Jeremy and Tom, and the elder of the two also played tennis at national level.
Brydan’s favourite tournament is Wimbledon and his favourite surface is grass.
Brydan’s tennis hero is Pat Rafter and he also admires Rafael Nadal for achieving so much at such a young age. Brydan believes his determination is his greatest strength, his favourite food is homemade pizza and his favourite film is Top Gun.
