The event was celebrating its 101st year of play and attracted 35 teams (17 ladies/18 men's), with around 245 players taking to the courts throughout the week. The event was played over two venues with the players gracing the historic grass courts of White City during the first 3 days of the event as well as utilizing the courts at the Rockdale tennis centre, which again proved a hit with players due to its fantastic club house providing it liquid refreshment.  The weather during the event proved to be a factor for some player, with temperatures reaching around the 40 degree mark on several of the days, this was especially the case for one elderly Tennis NSW player, who found both the heat and his aging body struggled to get through the required 8 sets per day, however to his credit Ken Wray managed to get through and proved to be a back bone for the team.

The popular harbour cruise again took place on the Wednesday night with many players taking the opportunity to relax and take in the fantastic views or the world’s best harbour.
