Former world No.8 Alicia Molik fell at the last hurdle of the Cliffs Esperance Tennis International Pro Tour event on Sunday, losing to top seed Olivia Rogowska in the final.
Molik, who has made four Pro Tour finals since coming out of retirement in September, fell to Rogowska 6-1 3-6 6-2.
Rogowska started the match strongly, taking the opening set 6-1 before Molik found her rhythm in the second to strike back 6-3. With the match levelled at one set apiece, it was Rogowska who took the ascendancy and the deciding set 6-2 to win her first Pro Tour title of 2009.
In the men's final, No.4 seed Matthew Ebden defeated Queensland John Millman 6-3 6-4 in straight sets.
Ebden has hit some good form and has now won the past two Pro Tour tournaments. He will be looking to continue his winning ways this week in Kalgoorlie where he is the No.4 seed.

The tournament marked a comeback for a number of players, with Brydan Klein returning to action for the first time since serving a four-month suspension for racial abuse and fellow West Australian Casey Dellacqua hitting the court following shoulder surgery in February.
Klein was knocked out in the quarterfinals by Robert Smeets while Dellacqua, who teamed with Molik in the doubles, was eliminated in the semifinals.
Dellacqua had initially planned to also compete in the women's singles but withdrew due to an ongoing foot complaint.
Matt Ebden and Colin Ebelthite won the men's doubles final with a 6-1 6-2 win over Dayne Kelly and Jarryd Maher, while Shannon Golds and Rogowska took home the women's doubles crown with a 6-1 6-1 triumph over Isabella Holland and Sally Peers.
