Two days after becoming World Champion in the men's 80 category, Australian Seniors player Harward Hillier passed away.

The newly crowned champion had just won his first individual Seniors World Championship title less than 48 hours earlier. He had also been a part of several ITF Seniors World Championship team titles.

Tom Hancy of Tennis Seniors Australia said, “We have lost a thorough gentleman who has left indelible memories with us. All of us are enriched through his endeavours and courage and the memories he shared with us.” 

Harward is survived by his wife, Nancy, and family.
