Adopted Australian Anastasia Rodionova has advanced to the third round
of the US Open with a surprise defeat of German 23rd Sabine Lisicki.
Russian-born Rodionova rallied from 5-2 down in the deciding set to score a 6-3 3-6 7-5 win on Friday (AEST) at Flushing Meadows.
Rodionova next faces unseeded Ukraine Kateryna Bondarenko for a place in the last 16 at the final grand slam event of the year.
The only other Australian in action on day four of the championships is big-serving Carsten Ball against Serbian fourth seed Novak Djokovic.
