There are more than 400 tournaments around NSW, catering for all ages and abilities. To help you get started, we’ve outline the six main categories for you:
The Australian Ranking tournaments include Australian Money Tournaments (AMT) which are Open age events and Junior Tour (JT) tournaments for the 12/Under, 14/Under, 16/Under and 18/Under age groups. These tournaments provide a clear competitive pathway for aspiring tennis players and offer Australian Ranking points across 5 levels, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and White.
JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SERIES (JDS)
The Junior Development Series are for kids who have started playing tournaments or a league at their local club and are ready for stronger competition. Players earn points as part of this series and if they do well throughout the year, they will be selected to play off against the best players in NSW.
The State Series are great for kids who have had coaching and want to test their game in a tournament. They are for kids from 8 – 16 years of age and they will be sure to make some new friends along the way.
These tournaments provide good competition and are fun and social events. These events do not offer rankings points. TENNIS SENIORS Tennis Seniors runs tournaments and competitions for players aged 35 and over. These Australia-wide competitions are broken up into five-year age groups and are played in all states.
The Teams event is an invitational tournament for the best juniors in the 10/Under, 12/Under and 14/Under age groups across each region in NSW.
