MLC Tennis Hot Shots tournament lands in Newcastle

70 kids from the Newcastle region had the chance to experience kids starter program, MLC Tennis Hot Shots US Open tournament, earlier in the month.

Supported by Topspin Tennis located Newcastle District Park, Tennis NSW CTO Maurice, Murphy, local MLC sponsor, Tennis Country committee member, Chris Maddocks and a number of MLC Tennis Hot Shots Coaches, the day provided a fun and competitive tournament environment for local kids.

The MLC Tennis Hot Shots program has been going from strength to strength with a number of new initiatives, including permanent modified courts in Wollongong, providing kids the chance to grab a racquet and gain the confidence to stay in the sport for longer.

“The support that the tournament recieved from all areas of the Northumberland tennis region was overwhelming.”

“It was great to see that the kids thoroughly enjoyed the US Open tournament experience. Hopefully we will be able to provide more of these events for local kids in the future”, explained Murphy.
