West Port Macquarie Expression of Interest

The West Port Macquarie Tennis Club Inc. is seeking expressions of interest for the management of and coaching rights at the West Port Macquarie Tennis Club. The Association is seeking a highly skilled operation which can significantly grow the business and deliver high quality services. It would be an advantage for respondents to demonstrate a successful track record in a similar facility.

The West Port Macquarie Tennis Complex is located in Woods Street, Port Macquarie NSW. The centre has 10 synthetic grass courts with 8 flood lit, A modern clubhouse, toilet facilities with showers, a large covered outdoor area and a small secured pro shop.

The complex is very well maintained with a monitored security system in place. The courts are currently used from 7am 7 days a week for social tennis, also there is 2 night comps running.

The Committee will be responsible for memberships, conducting social tennis, infrastructure maintenance and improvements, facility insurances, court light globes.

The appointed Manager will be responsible for conducting the Coaching programme, the competition delivery, Pro Shop management, court hire, tournaments & special events, marketing of his/her business, maintaining good relationships with club members and the general public, public liability and indemnity insurance on the business operation, workers compensation insurance (if applicable).

The term envisaged is for 3 years with a 2 year option. The West Port Macquarie Tennis Club is leased from Hastings council. It will be a requirement for the successful applicant to operate the West Port Macquarie Tennis complex as their principal place of business

• The successful applicant (or employee) would be required to be at the complex 6 days a week.
• Must have the ability to cater for and communicate with members of all ages from junior to senior.
• Able to develop & conduct a coaching pathway for junior and senior players from beginner to elite level including a full Hot Shots programme that underpins the coaching pathway.
• Manage and grow the current competition framework. Design and implement a competition structure that provides entry points for players of all ages and standards and aligns with the coaching pathway. Provide short duration competitions that fit people’s lifestyles. Staff to be onsite during competition play.
• Able to conduct Junior, Open & Senior tournaments.
• Be able to show any business (track record) and/or accreditation and coaching certificates applicable.

The annual lease fee will be $ 10,400 with an annual increase equal to the CPI increase occurring over the previous 12 months.

Applicants should provide:

1. Coaching and business management experience and certifications
2. A design of the planned coaching pathway/programme to be implemented over time
3. A design of the planned competition offerings to be implemented over time
4. An explanation of the software to be used in business and event management
5. Any special events planned as part of the annual calendar
6. A marketing plan
7. Names of 2 referees
8. Any other ideas and initiatives
