Tennis NSW staff took the first step in having fun, getting fit and burning calories by participating in an eight week Cardio Tennis term.
Staff came from a number of departments including; Human Resources, Membership, Marketing and Communications, Tournaments, Places to Play and the Australian Tennis Museum to try Australia’s new cardio workout program!
Cardio Tennis coach, Ryan Slarks, was impressed by the standard of ability across all Tennis NSW departments.
“The staff at Tennis NSW went very well, I was actually surprised. Everybody had a good time, had a good run and hit alot of tennis balls”.
“If you can get to a ball then you can play Cardio Tennis”.
Human Resources Manager, Alison Farah, explained that it was important for all staff to get involved in Tennis Australia’s new program.
“Working out together will improve team bonding, as well all know healthy staff are happy staff”.
Postive signs for the staff so far, with staff working up to 90% in their ‘workout zone’. Tennis NSW staff agreed that the heart rate monitors were an excellent addition as they helped gauge how hard to work.
Sessions will run lunchtime Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to give all staff the opportunity to participate. We will be sure to update you on all of our progress throughout the term!
