Talking Tennis

Paul Burgess- Host of Talking Tennis

Paul has been involved in tennis administration since he was 18 years of age.

He was appointed Secretary of the Strathfield Hardcourt Tennis Club Ltd at age 18 (1968) and, together with John Anderson, was involved in the growth of the club’s Saturday morning competition and instrumental in increasing player numbers from 40 to 240 over a number of years.

He was also actively associated with the building of the Southend Tennis Centre project at Enfield.  He retired from that role in the mid 1970’s to allow him to commence studying law and to also spend more time with his young family.  He also served simultaneously on the committee of the Western Suburbs Tennis Association and Strathfield Recreation Club during the late 1960’s and mid 1970’s.

In more recent years he has returned to tennis administration serving as General Secretary of CBTA for the past 6 years and also as Vice President of the Strathfield Recreation Club for a period of 18 months.  During 2010 he was appointed Chairman of the Tennis NSW Disciplinary Tribunal and a member of Tennis Sydney.

Talking Tennis airs on Saturday morning at 10.15am on community radio station 2NBC (90.1FM).
