About Us

Tennis NSW is a member based not-for-profit organisation charged with growing, developing and promoting the Sport throughout NSW. As the central administrative body of tennis in NSW, it is our role to manage, coordinate, promote, and unify the diverse facets of this great sport.
The Board and senior management team updated the organisations strategy in April 2013, to align our business further with parent body Tennis Australia and to capitalise on the changing sporting and recreation landscape and consumer needs and expectations in Tennis.
Our objective remains unchanged – Be recognised as the No.1 sport and leisure activity in NSW by 2016. This will be supported by our strategic priorities, which are:

Participation

  • Increase the number of kids 10 & under participating in tennis
  • Attract more adults back to the game and keep them playing
  • Develop fun and innovative competitions for everyone in NSW
  • Implement effective IT systems that track members, run tournaments and competitions and support a nationwide ranking system for all standards
  • Provide CTO’s that have the tools, experience and knowledge to add value to every club in NSW

Places to Play (Facilities)

  • Implement a system for coaches and/or administrators to run successful clubs of all sizes
  • Build strategic partnerships with Government (state and local) and private enterprise to invest in the sport

Performance

  • Create a high quality competitive tournament environment for NSW athletes played at first-class venues
  • Support National performance programs and successfully implement State development programs for talented NSW athletes and coaches

Alignment

  • Support Tennis Country and Tennis Sydney grow grassroots participation
  • Develop and promote a Tennis Marketing & Communications Plan

Sustainability

  • Develop a membership model that boosts demand for tennis, offers real value and that all tennis players want to join
  • Maintain the value of Tennis NSW grassroots reserves to protect the future
  • Seize on long term opportunities that build surplus
  • Engage knowledgeable committed staff

Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre

  • Contribute significantly to the financial success of Tennis NSW
  • Implement the SOPTC Development Plan to maximise its potential
  • Establish successful relationships with the Asia/Pacific region
