Sam Stosur returns to Prague this week in a bid to repeat her impressive run at the 2016 edition of the WTA event.

Stosur, who reached the final in the Czech capital before going down to Lucie Safarova in a three-set final, is the fourth seed at the claycourt tournament.

She opens against Russia’s Evgeniya Rodina, a player she beat in their one and only prior meeting in the first round of the 2015 US Open.

Meanwhile, in Rabat, Daria Gavrilova is seeded No.3 at the Moroccan claycourt event.

Gavrilova has drawn Maryna Zanevska of Belgium as her first round opponent; eighth seed Alison Riske and experienced claycourters Alize Cornet and Sara Errani all loom as potential quarterfinal threats.

In Turkey, Bernard Tomic and Jordan Thompson will fly the Aussie flag when they contest the draw at the ATP 250 tournament in Istanbul.

Tomic, seeded No.6, takes on Moldova’s Radu Albot and is looking to rebound from a back injury that forced his withdrawal from last week’s tournament in Barcelona.

Should he progress, he faces a projected quarterfinal meeting with No.1 seed Milos Raonic.

Thompson will tackle Spanish qualifier Adrian Menendez-Maceiras; the winner will next take on No.3 seed Diego Schwartzman, who received a first-round bye.

Nick Kyrgios, scheduled to play this week at the ATP event in Estoril, withdrew from the tournament and returned to Australia in order to attend his grandfather’s funeral.
