Australia will take on India for a place in the ITF World Junior Tennis Asia / Oceania Final Qualifying semifinals after beating tournament hosts Thailand in their final group match.

Despite defeat for Edward Vo in the opening singles rubber, watched by a raucous home crowd, Australia eventually prevailed 2-1 to set up a quarterfinal clash with India.

Philip Sekulic maintained his impressive form with a 6-1 6-3 defeat of Tanapatt Nirundorn in the second singles rubber, before teaming up with Casey Hoole in the deciding doubles rubber, which went the way of the visitors 6-2 6-2.

The victory ensured Australia’s place at the top of the group and took them one step closer to securing their berth in the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals, held in August in Czech Republic.
