Nick Kyrgios has kept his perfect record at Marseille’s Open 13 tournament intact with a straight-sets victory over Malek Jaziri.

Kyrgios, who beat Marin Cilic in last year’s decider to win his first title, won 6-4 6-2 over the world No.47 on Wednesday in just under an hour to take his overall record at the tournament to 7-0.

The 21-year-old recorded six aces in his first set on his way to winning 93 per cent of his first-serve points.

He broke Jaziri in the opening game of the second set before the Tunisian was forced to take a medical time-out with the score 3-1.

Kyrgios eventually prevailed with a 216 km/h ace to set up a date with either Nicolas Mahut or Norbert Gombos in the quarterfinals.

In Wednesday’s earlier matches sixth seed Richard Gasquet defeated Mikhail Youzhny in straight sets while Gilles Simon beat countryman Julien Benneteau 6-2 2-6 6-3.

Daniil Medvedev eliminated French eighth seed Benoit Paire in a third-set tiebreaker.
