Sam Stosur has been drawn in the “Azalea Group” of the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai, also containing Johanna Konta and Caroline Garcia.

Stosur will play both players in the round robin format, with the best-performed player in the group advancing to the semifinals.

There are 12 players in the Zhuhai field, drawn into four round-robin groups of three.

Stosur has never before faced off against either player; she was meant to play Garcia in the quarterfinals of Strasbourg before withdrawing from the tournament due to a wrist injury.

Konta leads the group as the world No.10; the Brit enjoyed a breakthrough season and strong recent form in Asia, including reaching the China Open final in Beijing.

Garcia, ranked 23rd, arrives in Zhuhai from Singapore after making the semifinals of the WTA Finals doubles event.

Stosur has been preparing for Zhuhai in Australia after being knocked out in the first round of the Hong Kong Open, staged on 10-16 October.
