Matt Ebden is set for a welcome rankings boost after victory in the Aegon Surbition Trophy event.

Ebden, who defeated fourth seed American Denis Kudla to claim the title, is rebuilding his career after a series of injuries. Having peaked at world No.61 in 2012, he slumped to No.359 earlier this year.

Having worked hard on the ATP Challenger tour throughout the season, the West Australian has since returned to world No.189, with Ebden expected to crack the top 160 with his latest win.

The Surbiton title marks Ebden’s first since Nottingham in 2013. He is the second Australian to enjoy success in 2015 grass court Challenger events, with Sam Groth a winner in Nottingham last week.
