Australian teen Thanasi Kokkinakis has recorded another milestone in his flourishing career with victory at the ATP Challenger event in Bordeaux.

He claimed a thrilling 6-4 1-6 7-6(5) in the final against Dutchman Thiemo De Bakker to win his first Challenger title.

It is just the second professional tournament victory of his career; in 2014, he snared the title at the Saskatoon ITF Futures event in Canada.

Having qualified for the main draw in Bordeaux, Kokkinakis won seven straight matches to win the title.

The triumph has boosted his ranking 15 places to a career-high mark of No.83.
