Thanasi Kokkinakis and John-Patrick Smith have qualified for the ATP event in Delray Beach, taking the number of Aussies in the main draw to five.

Smith was the first of the pair to qualify, recovering from a set down to beat former world No.15 Robby Ginepri 3-6 6-3 6-0.

Following Smith onto court was Kokkinakis, who swatted aside No.7 seed Alex Kuznetsov 6-1 6-3 in just 54 minutes.

The two Aussies – showing great form after having won three matches to qualify – join compatriots Bernard Tomic, Sam Groth and Marinko Matosevic in the main draw of the ATP 250-level event.

All five will contest their first round matches on Tuesday.

It’s an especially tough assignment for Smith and Matosevic, who will face No.1 seed Kevin Anderson and No.2 seed John Isner respectively.
