Sam Stosur will return to the site of her most successful tournament this week at the WTA International event in Osaka, Japan.

Stosur, who won the title last year by beating Eugenie Bouchard in an exciting three-set final, is the top seed at the 2014 event.

The Australian also won the Osaka title in 2009 – it is the only tournament at which she has won multiple titles – and also reached the final in 2011.

She has a 19-3 career win-loss record at the event.

She opens her title defence against Japan’s Misa Eguchi, with a potential second round match looming against in-form compatriot Jarmila Gajdosova.

Tomjlanovic, Rodionova in action in Tianjin

Meanwhile, another pair of Aussies, Ajla Tomljanovic and Anastasia Rodionova, will contest the inaugural WTA event in Tianjin, China this week.

Tomljanovic is the eighth seed at the International-level event and opens her campaign against a qualifier.

Rodionova takes on Taiwan’s Su-Wei Hsieh.

The tournament boast an impressive field, with the top three seeds respectively being former world No.1 Jelena Jankovic, US Open semifinalist Peng Shuai and exciting up-and-comer Belinda Bencic.
