Australians Lleyton Hewitt and Sam Stosur have won their exhibition matches at the BNP Paribas Showdown event in Hong Kong as part of World Tennis Day on Monday.

Stosur opened the program against reigning Australian Open champion and world No.2 Li Na, winning 6-4 6-3.

Although not an official match counting towards the players’ head-to-head, the win kept intact Stosur’s unbeaten record against Li.

Hewitt followed Stosur onto the temporary court at the Hong Kong Veledrome against world No.5 Tomas Berdych, and won their battle 6-4 7-5.

Despite the great results for the Aussie pair the matches were played in a light-hearted and humerous spirit; during his match against Hewitt, Berdych partook in some live on-court tweeting.

Hewitt and Stosur will next head to the United States for the joint men’s and women’s hardcourt event at Indian Wells, California.
