Australian Sam Groth has scored a lucky loser entry into the main draw of the ATP event in Delray Beach, Florida.

After winning through to the final round of qualifying, Groth was stopped in three tight sets by American Steve Johnson.

But following the withdrawal of fifth seed Vasek Pospisil of Canada – who continues to struggle with the back injury that saw him bow out of Australian Open 2014 – Groth found himself elevated to the main draw.

He joins follow Aussies Lleyton Hewitt, Marinko Matosevic and Matt Ebden in the draw; all four will take to the court for their first round matches on Tuesday.
